Family are the people you feel closest to. It’s important to remember that although fate gave you siblings and parents when you arrived, your true family in life are those with whom you choose to spend the most time with. I learned this lesson myself as my grandmother has decided to adopt 3 small dogs and forgo any human interaction.
She’d simply rather be around dogs now-a-days.
At first I found this peculiar but as time went on and I saw the satisfaction that It brought my grandmother and realized that she was every bit as fulfilled as she would be with a more conventional family. The love she had for the dogs is almost palpable when you walk in and she’s been in high spirits ever since she brought them home.
I feel blessed that I don’t have to worry as much about her becoming sad or lonely but the one problem with the dogs is they can be a hairy mess. It is a lot to ask of a frail old lady to clean up after three animals so me and my wife went to work trying to find a solution.
First we hired a maid service but at $150 a month the costs quickly began to add up. We needed a cheaper solution so we decided to look for a new vacuum cleaner. Most of the vacs we found that could do the job coasted hundreds of dollars and we didn’t have that type of money to spend. Eventually a friend told us about the Hoover Wind Tunnel T Series so we went to check one out.
Who knew they made low cost vacuums so powerful?
The T series weighs in at around 16 lbs. making it one of the lightest vacuums in its class. This was extremely important for us as the primary user of the vacuum would be my grandmother. She’s able to carry it through the house as much as she wants without her arms getting too tired. She usually takes about an hour to do the whole house and has a ton of energy afterwards.
The 25 foot cord means that she doesn’t have to continuously unplug the machine as she moves from room to room making jobs take much less time than they used to. The cord is attached to a rewind system so the user does not have to spend extra time folding the cord up and hooking it to the vacuum cleaner. The internal cord storage means the vacuum is easier to put away after use.
My grandmother has both carpet and hardwood floors in her home so the 5 height carpet adjustment setting on the T series is great for her. The wind tunnel technology goes deep into the carpet to pick up any dirt or dog hair. The upholstery tool is very sturdy and flexible, she uses it to keep the fur off her bed, shelves, and furniture.
All in all the T series is a practical choice for the person who’s looking for an inexpensive vacuum that can tackle big problems. Priced just shy of $95, the T series packs a punch without breaking the bank.
