For me it was about getting the job done as quickly as possible.
That’s what I told the sales lady when she asked what I was looking for in a vacuum. I didn’t really care about features, price points, longevity or any of other myriad of reasons she felt I should go with one machine over the other. I simply wanted to go with a van that I knew would work every time.
Eventually she suggested I go with the Hoover FH50150 and I’m extremely happy with my decision. It has everything I need and none of the things that I don’t. I’m a bachelor and don’t have time to be dealing with excess parts nor do I have the money for features I don’t need.
The Hoover FH50150 is the perfect vacuum for the bachelor in my opinion.
The first thing you’ll notice when you pick up the vacuum is that it’s extremely light. Even after a long day at the office or pushing myself in the gym the vacuum always feels effortless to use. This concept of ease of use extends to cleaning the van itself as the tank and all other removable parts are simple to remove and like the main unit they weigh very little.
My condo has very deep carpet, this is something my girlfriend was very adamant about and I’m glad I caved because the stuff is great. Most vacuums really struggle to clean it deeply but the Hoover’s Spin Scrub technology has special counter rotating brushes that allows it to suck up more dirt and trash than any other vac I’ve owned.
The only thing I was worried about was cleaning the hair on the stairs left by my 140lb German Shepard. His name is Bugsy and he’s the other love of my life. He also sheds like a demon so it was very important the new Hoover could clean the stairs he loves to run on. Luckily the 50150 came with one of the best hose and upholstery tool attachments I’ve used.
I’m able to clean the stairs and my car with this thing and have no problems reaching the smallest places.
One of the coolest features on the Hoover is the wash/rinse selector. Now when we first bought our washing machine I was pretty amazed at the fact that I was able wash my clothes and then select a special rinse cycle that would remove any soap residue on my clothes.
Imagine my surprise when the same advanced technology was on this Hoover vacuum. We’re able to remove any soapy discharge left over from shampooing the carpet. This makes our carpet last much longer than it would if we were using a traditional vacuum.
I suggest you dampen the carpet with warm water before shampooing it, that way it will absorb more of the soap, allowing you to use less detergent and save money.
The Hoover 50150 will cost you less than $150 and has more durability, cleaning ability, and versatility than vacs that cost 3 times of much. I used a Bissell that coasted me $500 before I got the Hoover and it wasn’t nearly as good.
Overall I love my machine. I needed something that was simple and powerful. I ended up with one of my favorite purchases I’ve made for the house. When it comes to value my Hoover can’t be beat.
